Gigs, gigs and more gigs

Hello Folks. We have some gigs to announce.

It was touch and go, what with Dave Sly breaking a hand he needed to play the drums but he will be present in all his fractured and fractious glory.

Keeping the drum stool warm will be the highly renowned drummer Tom Stehlik – these are definitely gigs not to be missed as we have put together our grooviest, most danceable songs into a three hour setlist that will challenge and excite us all.

The first gig is a civilised Sunday afternoon at our favouritest venue ever. So put it in your diary now…

Sunday 19th November The Semaphore Workers Club 5 pm – 8 pm.

Next is the Port Noarlunga Blues Festival. Ticketed and highly popular so if you’d like a great night out we open for Oscar LaDell and the Night Owls and The Sexy Boys Blues Band

Friday 24th November 7 pm – 11 pm Port Noarlunga Surf Life Saving Club. Tickets available here

We’ll also be on 891 ABC Radio Adelaide on Tuesday 21st November at 2:30 playing a new song and talking with the inimitable Sonya Feldhoff.

So November is The TinMen month. See you there!

SCALA at The Wheaty

The TinMen continue their epic World Tour of Adelaide’s Western Suburbs, with a roaring full-tilt free concert on THURSDAY JULY 1st at 7:30 pm in The Tin Shed at The Wheaty – 39 George St Thebarton. This will be a set of our originals – it’s put on by SCALA – tickets $8 at the door or online (doors open at 7 support act at 7:30 pm The TinMen at 8:30 pm).

Face it. We ain’t travellin’ nowhere, so getting amongst it in our finest local blues dens is the very best option we have – especially when The TinMen whip up a red hot serving of the blues.

The TinMen play dusky blues of a local stripe, where the hot howling breath of Chicago’s south side meets the huff and puff of Adelaide’s suburban toil. Respectful of the great blues harp and guitar masters – Little Walter, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, T-Bone Walker – TinMen shape the sound to fit comfortably inside a nifty, nimble four-piece combo that shimmies and shakes in all the right places. Our kinda blues, from the Southside o’ Croydon.

Better still, this tour will be the public showcase of a whole batch of new TinMen original songs. Smirkin’ Martin Davies, The TinMen’s erstwhile guitarist, vocalist and gentle man of modest means, spent his lockdown penance wisely, whittlin’ away at fresh tunes and attaching just the right amount of complaining to conjure up a mighty collection of his own blues standards. Proud and defiant TinMen songs – true blue, through and through.

The TinMen World Tour of Adelaide’s Western Suburbs will continue with a gig at The King’s Head Pub, on Friday July 30th – free 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Then it’s back to The Gov’s Gumbo Room on Thursday August 26 (free) – and back to The Wheatsheaf on Saturday August 28 (free).

Subscribe to our web page or follow us on FaceBook for email updates and notifications. Put a ring around these dates and be a part of the action. Pour yourself a long drink and get ready to stomp your shoes. There’s gonna be a raging blue party goin’ on.
