Next gig Friday 18th Nov

We’re back on The Red Stage at The Semaphore Workers Club for three fun filled hours from 8:00 pm Friday November 18th and it’s nearly the end of 2022 so what better way to get ready for the impending festive season than to be part of the celebrations.

With some revamped originals and classic blues tunes the dance floor will be the place to be.

The folks at ARBA continue to fill Adelaide’s classic music venues with top notch bands and musicians and we’re chuffed to be able to be a part of that.

We love playing TSWC and we hope to see you there. Tickets at the door or pre-purchase from ARBA here.

Doors open 7:30 pm The TinMen take to the stage at 8:00 pm. The TinMen’s event is here.

Memphis Blues Challenge Fundraiser tonight 21 Oct

Despite The TinMen not snaring the win and sadly not travelling to Memphis in 2023 if you’d like to support ARBA in funding the trip for the first place winners – The Honey Badgers and Frankie and Savva – there is a star studded gig tonight at The Semaphore Workers Club from 7:30 pm.

Tickets are $20 online or $25 at the door – all for a good cause.

The Semaphore Workers Club is a great venue and it should be a great night with special guests Jessie Dean, Chris Finnen, Nick Kipridis and Snooks La Vie.

You can buy tickets here or at the door.

Don’t forget The TinMen are playing at The Semaphore Workers Club in 4 weeks on Friday November 18th at 7:30 pm.

It should be a fun night – we hope to see you there.

Semaphore is the new Memphis

Great gig last night at The Sempaphore Workers Club. Thank you to the people at the SWC and ARBA for organising it, to everyone who came and had a good time.

If you missed it or you are curious this is a recording of the gig 3 x 45 min sets. One for the true believers I know…

And the link in case… here

We’re looking forward to playing the Murray Delta Juke Joint 4 Dowdodd Cres, Goolwa SA 5214 – with special guests The Love Mussels Dec 9th 2022.

Before then we’re playing Tues Weds Thurs 2-4pm The Kingsway stage at the Royal Adelaide Show – not far from the pig racing, wood chopping, dog and poultry judging and the CWA cafe. The Vegas of the South indeed!

No Memphis: Semaphore here we come!

What a night at The Memphis Blues Challenge at Norwood Live. We played our best and we went down well with the crowd, most of which had never seen us before.

Heads were bobbing. The judges were serious. The sound was good. We blistered some paint off the furnishings but to no avail.

The Honey Badgers were too slick, polished and professional. Their line up, with their three piece brass section and shredding guitar and vocal frontman, was more than a match for us and the result fairly reflected that.

They were deserving winners and so were Frankie and Savva winning their duo act section.

What we’ve taken away from it is how lucky we were to make it to the final and have that opportunity to play our songs in front of an appreciative crowd. It’s a great feeling to be part of a line up that was full of talent.

Thanks to all the folk at ARBA who make it happen. Thanks also to all our friends and family who came to see us on the night and to all the bands that took part and are part of the music scene here in Adelaide.

And if you want to catch us you can come along to the Semaphore Workers Club Sunday 4th September 5-8 pm and see what Memphis is missing out on.

Update: recording of the gig – recorded for archival purposes only – not a studio quality recording just for anyone interested.

And don’t forget you can subscribe to our mailing list and get an email when we post an update or find us on Facebook.

Sold Out: Memphis Blues Challenge Final

The Memphis Blues Challenge Final is a sell out but Sunday 4th of September 5-8 pm at The Semaphore Workers’ Club can go in your diary instead.

We’ll be playing 3 x 45 minute sets and it’s a great venue that kicks on and supports live music week in and week out so it’s a blast to play there.

And if you’re a fan of The Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society Annual Show we’ll be playing from 2-4 pm Tues 6th September, Wednesday 7th September and Thursday 8th September at the Alley Stage (near the Country Women’s Association, the poultry pavilion and the dog pavilion). What’s not to love about that?

And if you’re into longer range plans we’re playing a double bill at The Murray Delta Juke Joint in Goolwa with The Love Mussels who are releasing their recently recorded album “The Love Mussels Save The World”. If you haven’t seen them and you can come along you’re in for a real treat.
