Sunday Afternoon Session December 8th

Hi friends, fans and followers (if you’d like to be a follower click this link subscribe and follow here).

Following Bock Around The Clock last month we’re having a repeat performance at The Semaphore Workers Club with the inimitable David Sly on the drum stool.

We’re playing on The Red Stage at the friend and fan friendly time slot from 5pm-8pm Sunday December 8th. Should be a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon: supporting live original music (and classic blues covers), live music venue and enjoying the music, the weather, the bar, the barbecue and the full size snooker tables.

Our last gig was October 25th at the same venue and you may know our drummer David Sly was unavailable and we had a hoot playing with his son Miles Sly.

Thanks Miles, it was a pleasure to play with you. Miles and Lucas Sly play in the SA Music Award winning – Most Popular Country Artist – Brad Chicken & The Bootstraps. Ironic country at it’s best, or most questionable…

To hear a live recording of that gig with Miles you can find it on BandCamp here.

Diary dates:

December 27th our debut performance at Memphis Slim’s House of Blues 9pm-12am Free entry

January 12th The Wheatsheaf Hotel Thebarton 430pm-7pm Free entry

Hello again. The gig at the Semaphore Workers’ Club was a hoot. Thank you for all who came along and making it such a good gig.

We’ve got some fresh new tunes, Dave’s hand has been declared fit to drum to his heart’s content and our tonsils are freshly varnished with a vintage lustre and patina that comes with celebrating Martin’s completion of six decades of existence.

We’d love to have a good crowd supporting us at Norwood in a few weeks so if you can please come along. You can get tickets here.

Gig – Sun 19 May 5pm Semaphore

Hi friends of The TinMen, lovers of original music, dancing, and good times. Put the date in your diary – Sunday 19th May 5 pm at The Semaphore Workers’ Club.

Come along as we play our latest musical offerings and some old favourites.

There has been quite a hiatus between gigs but we’re pleased to report our irrepressible drummer David Sly has been declared fit to play and will be belting out the beats and we’ll be doing our utmost to support his best efforts.

It’s only a week away and another TinMen will be added to the swelling ranks of the seniors in the world and will be a freshly minted 60 year old (the Senior’s Card is in the mail). Come along and wish me a happy birthday for Tuesday 14/5. It’ll be great to see you there and catch up with you all again.

Radio Airplay – Live!

That was fun on Tuesday speaking to Jason Chong filling in for Sonya Feldhoff on 891 ABC Radio Adelaide.

Live ramblings and a new song performed without a safety net: “Jump, Jump, Jump!”

You can hear the replay here:

It was a great opportunity to promote the Port Noarlunga Blues Festival this weekend – and you can hear the excitement in our voices opening the show on Friday night at 7 pm at Porties – The Port Noarlunga Surf Lifesaving Club followed by Oscar Ladell and The Night Owls and The Sexy Boys.

There’re so many acts it defies description – you have to look at the program on the PNBF website here. Most of them are free and they’re all indoors in one of the eighteen venues around Port Noarlunga.

The big nighttime shows are ticketed and are in one of the four major venues being used for the festival. Tickets are available here.

Chris Finnen is this year’s Festival curator and he’s done an amazing job and is playing in three of the acts on the program – and possibly he’ll make even more appearances.

We’d love there to be a great turnout and we are looking forward to playing some of our hottest original tracks and starting a red hot night on Friday.

For a taste of what we’re going to do we just played at The Semaphore Worker’s Club on Sunday afternoon last weekend and the unvarnished recording of our three set extravaganza is here on Bandcamp.

You can subscribe to The TinMen to get notified by email when we post – which is only when we have some news – we are not spammers and you can unsubscribe at any time. Subscribe here.

You can follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube Music.

We hope we see you there.

Live at Henley Surf Club

Hi friends, fans and followers. If you missed our last gig at the Henley Beach Surf Lifesaving Club Sat 19th August then be glum no longer. You can listen to it here.

It was a lot of fun and a lot of effort but well worth it – we enjoyed ourselves immensely and there’s some new original songs that got their first run and a few other originals that are firmly entrenched in our repertoire. So much so that some of us have occasionally forgotten that they are originals and assume that they’ve come from the pantheon of blues greats.

We look forward to getting back to Henley Surf Club in summer when we look forward to playing ion the boasted – stay tuned, spread the word, get your friends to subscribe to our email updates for more gig news here or share our Facebook page here.

Put our next gig in your diary now and head over to The Port Noarlunga Blues Festival for tickets – stay tuned they will be on sale very soon. We’re playing at 7:00 pm Friday November 24th at The Port Noarlunga Surf Club followed by The Night Owls and lastly The Sexy Boys – what a lineup!

Stay tuned for updates. Cheers.
