Porch Session

Easter Monday was the occasion for a group of friends of The TinMen to congregate and take part in a musical experience followed by a shared barbecue under the clear sunny skies on the Sly’s porch.

There were various combinations of musical groupings and the resulting tunes are gathered on this page for you to enjoy.

Firstly The TinMen presented what will be the essence of our first set at “Good Time Charlie’s Got The Blues” at Charles Melton Wines on 17/4 at 4:30 pm – as follows:

St James Infirmary
The Locomotion
Stormy Monday Blues
Willie And The Hand Jive
I’m Leaving You
Last Of My Kind
Keep It To Yourself
My Babe
All This Time On My Hands

Then followed a few tunes with The TinMen and guest musicians:

Mixed Up Shook Up Girl
Pride And Joy
Black Sun
Route 66
Chitlins Con Carne
Checkin On My Baby
Hoochie Coochie Man

And finally while the BBQ chefs got to work Dave and his guests kept us entertained with some more sweet tunes:

Fire
Words
To Love Somebody
Who’ll Stop The Rain
Under The Milky Way
Heroes

All in all it was a great time and a good try out for some gentler tunes to kick off an afternoon gig in the Barossa in a couple of weeks. We’d love to hear what you think so please get in touch or share this page with whoever would like to hear it. Thanks.

Tunes from the vaults

Here’s a few examples of The TinMen playing a few classic numbers:

This one can be a dance floor ripper or like we’ve played it here a stripped-back, cruisy, fun, Sunday afternoon toetapper.

Don’t Lie To Me (rehearsal)

And this one is very groovy.

Hoochie Coochie Man (rehearsal)

And a favourite from Chuck Berry a bit loose but such great energy and so much fun to play.

Route 66 (rehearsal)

And for now last, but not least, some exercise and one of our drummer Dave’s faves.

Walkin’ The Dog (rehearsal)

And if you want to listen to demos of our originals on Spotify they are up now.

Riffy Blues Goodness

Hello TinMen fans and those who can’t get enough breaking news in this dark and dire age a lot of us are living in.

Fresh from the Tin Mine here’s a new demo that hopefully will entice you out to come and see the band when we’ve got a gig to announce and we can slot it into our expanding originals.

I’m not putting this up on Apple Music, Spotify etc but you can listen to it on this page.

We hope you enjoy it.
